On the slopes with Gage: “Let’s get busy”

“Let’s get busy,” was the attitude of Golden High School VIP skier Gage when he hit the slopes this week with Foresight Ski Guides.

It was all about muscle memory for this Jeffco Schools senior who was up @VailMtn for his second year with Foresight. Longtime guide Bill “Murph” Murphy said everything Gage learned last year came right back to him.

Since this was Gage’s last year coming up with @jeffcoschools, Murph said Gage needed to get to a point where he could ski independently with a guide.

Gage picked up right where he left off and by the end of the second day on the mountain he was turning with ease when Murph called out commands. Other ski instructors came up to Gage to congratulate his hard work.

Each word of encouragement made Gage clap his hands and pumped him up for the next ski run. Gage was very motivated and he reached his goal.

Jeffco TVI (teacher for the visually impaired) Roberta Weidemeyer was impressed with Gage’s success with Foresight.

“I heard her tell Gage he has brought her many happy tears in the 11 years they had worked together,” Murph said. “And today was another one of those days.”
