From the Slopes – CSDB Students

After a two-year hiatus, students from the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind in Colorado Springs return to the slopes for two days of guided skiing with Foresight Ski Guides @VailMtn.

The students will be paired with skilled Foresight guides to learn how to tackle the slopes while building self-confidence and gain knowledge about the importance of exercise.

The CSDB students continue a season that has been full of visits from Front Range youth who have been enjoying the opportunity to ski with Foresight and their respective school districts in Denver, Aurora, Jefferson and Douglas counties.

Many social and recreational opportunities are often unavailable to those who are blind or visually impaired, Foresight founder Mark G. Davis said. Studies have shown that obesity is a serious problem among blind youth who are often left out of recreational sports activities.

Foresight opens that door for them and provides a safe environment to explore skiing and their physical capabilities.
